Congratulations to our Ollivier Middle School Lions on their victory in the Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation Flag Football Championship.
Over the weekend (Dec. 13-14,) all three GFUSD middle schools took to the gridiron to determine who would reign supreme.
The Greenfield Union School District cleaned house taking first, second, and third places in the tournament hosted by the city of Inglewood.
The Greenfield Middle School Eagles (8th grade) defeated both Pasadena and McKee to take on the Lions who defeated Inglewood and Oxnard.
In the end, it was the defending champions GMS versus OMS and the Lions came out on top 16-14.
Greenfield Middle secured second, and McKee third place.
In the sixth grade tournament, OMS also advanced to the Championship game hosted by Hawaiian Gardens and they defeated their opponents to bring home the victory.
Congratulations to all our athletes.
We are bursting with joy to have those trophies in Bakersfield.
